The best photoshoots happen when everyone is at ease! Dogs pick up on our energy, so if you’re stressed or trying to “make” them behave perfectly, it can make them anxious. Take a deep breath and trust me—I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to grab your pup’s attention and capture their unique personality.
Fun fact: I’ve photographed everything from well-behaved family dogs to high-energy shelter pups, and every single one of them turned out amazing. You’re in great hands!
To keep your pup motivated during the session, try feeding them half their usual meal beforehand. This way, treats will feel extra special and work wonders as positive reinforcement during the shoot.
Burning off some energy beforehand can help your pup stay calmer during the photoshoot. A light walk or play session about an hour before is perfect—but avoid overdoing it. We want your dog relaxed, not completely zonked out!
Plan to arrive at the photoshoot location 15–30 minutes early. This gives your dog time to sniff around, explore, and get comfortable in the new environment. A calmer pup makes for better photos!
Before the big day, give your pup a good grooming session. A quick bath, brushing, or even a professional groom can make a big difference. After all, everyone loves looking their best for the camera—including your four-legged superstar!
Does your pup have a favorite toy or treat? Keep it hidden for 2–3 days before the session, and then bring it along (but don’t reveal it right away). That way, it’ll be extra exciting when we need their full attention during the shoot.
At the heart of this experience is your bond with your pup. This session is all about celebrating that love and preserving it in timeless photographs. So relax, have fun, and let me handle the rest. I promise to do everything I can to capture the unique connection you share!
