Time Moves Fast. But Memories Like These Deserve to Stay.

Time moves quietly—through tail wags, muddy paws, and gentle nuzzles. One day they're bounding ahead of you on the trail, and the next, they’re moving a little slower, resting their head in your lap a little longer.

Photographs hold on to the moments that slip by too quickly: the sparkle in their eyes, the joy in their play, the way they look at you like you’re their whole world. No matter your dog’s age or spirit, now is always the right time to celebrate that love.

Because the only moments we ever regret are the ones we didn’t preserve.

It’s Not About Posing. It’s About Presence.

Your dog doesn’t need to be perfectly trained—or even a little bit trained—to have beautiful, heartfelt portraits. Whether they’re bouncy and bold, shy and slow to warm up, or somewhere in between, they are already perfect just as they are.

As someone who’s spent years photographing shelter pets at the Northwest Montana Humane Society—many with histories of trauma, fear, and uncertainty—I’ve learned how to meet each animal exactly where they are. I know how to read their signals, gain their trust, and gently guide them in a way that makes them feel safe and seen.

Your session is never about perfection—it’s about connection. It’s about celebrating your dog’s spirit, their quirks, their joy, and the bond you share. No pressure, no expectations—just your dog being uniquely, wonderfully themselves.

How It Works

"I cannot express enough what an amazing photographer Rita is! Not only does she take beautifully stunning pictures, but Rita's passion for photography comes through in every picture. She makes sure to capture the emotions of the subjects so clearly that you can tell her heart and soul goes into the picture taking process. She is also professional, reliable, attentive, and very fun to work with! If I could give Lost Creek Photography 10 stars, I would. I 100% recommend!."

~ Mary Augustine

"Taking pictures of your puppy, who is not trained to sit and look pretty, is not an easy task! Rita showed up at the photo shoot with bells and whistles (literally!!) and the picture came out amazing..She is an artist with an amazing eye for capturing special moment. Thank you Rita!! <3."

~ Mireille Bierens

"Rita is amazing, energetic and has a great eye on helping find the perfect spot or the perfect pose. She’s kind to the animals and meets them where they are at, letting them express truly who they are, rather than what we want them to be. I highly recommend her work, her playful side and her heart in capturing great moments!"

Meet Your Photographer – and Her Pack

Hi there, I am Rita Romayev!

If you’re here, it’s probably because your dog means the world to you—and you’ve just found someone who truly understands that. I’m Rita, a pet photographer based in the beautiful Flathead Valley, and dogs have always been the heartbeat of my world.

Meet my three:

Roma, my 10-year-old gentle soul who has looked like an old wise man since he was a puppy.

Julie, my 9-year-old German Shepherd diva, still keeping us all on our toes.

And Mishka (which means “little bear” in Russian), our joyful, fluffy newest addition—full of zoomies, love for life, and endless curiosity.

Each of them is so different—and yet, they’ve all taught me how deeply dogs can change our lives. That’s why I do what I do. Through my lens, I aim to preserve the spirit, the personality, and the bond you share with your pet—because love like this should never be forgotten.
