your pet.

your love.

preserved in art.

Framed bulldog portrait print displayed on a dark wood-paneled wall above a green velvet sofa.

I specialize in capturing the heart of your story—the bond, personality, and everyday moments that make your pet unforgettable.

No posing experience is needed, and there is no pressure to be perfect—just a relaxed, full-service experience tailored to you and your beloved companion. With patience and an eye for connection, I create timeless portraits designed to live not only on a screen, but in your hands and on your walls.

Because the love you share deserves to be seen, remembered, and beautifully preserved.

time moves fast.

but memories

like these

deserve to stay.

An older woman tenderly embraces her white Labrador Retriever wearing a black harness outdoors.

So much of life with them is found in the little things—tail wags at the door, muddy paws after an adventure, and the way they rest their head in your lap. These everyday moments may feel ordinary now, but one day they become the memories you hold closest.

Photographs hold on to the moments that slip by too quickly: the sparkle in their eyes, the joy in their play, the way they look at you like you’re their whole world. No matter your companion's age or spirit, now is always the right time

to celebrate that love.

Because the love woven

into everyday life

deserves to be remembered.

it's not about posing.

it's about presence.

Two chestnut horses nuzzle in a sunlit meadow with mountains and a wooden fence in the background.

Your session is about slowing down, paying attention, and making space for the moments that feel true.

Whether your companion is playful, cautious, curious, or completely in their own world, I meet them exactly

where they are.

No forced moments. No pressure.

Just honest, heartfelt portraits of them being beautifully themselves.

“Photographing a puppy who is not trained to sit and pose is no easy task, but Rita arrived with bells and whistles—literally! She is an artist with an amazing eye for capturing special moments.”

Hi there,

i'm rita romayev

If you’re here, your four-legged companion probably means the world to you—and I understand that kind of love deeply.

I’m Rita, a fine art pet photographer based in the beautiful Flathead Valley, and dogs have always been at the heart of my world.

I share my life with Roma, Julie, and Mishka—three very different personalities who continually remind me how deeply animals shape our lives. They continually remind me why I care so deeply about preserving the spirit, personality, and bond that make every pet unforgettable.

Together, We Made

a Difference —

Over $15,000 Raised for Shelter Pets!

A wrinkled Shar Pei dog poses on a wooden floor for the Tails at the Table 2027 calendar.

For the past three years, our annual pet calendar event has brought together an incredible community of animal lovers and helped raise more than $15,000 in support of the Humane Society of Northwest Montana.

I’m deeply grateful for every entry, vote, purchase, share, and word of encouragement that has made this possible. Together, we have celebrated beloved pets while helping provide care, shelter, and second chances for animals

in need.

The 2027 calendar is now available for purchase. Keep an eye out for the announcement of the 2028 Annual Pet Calendar Contest, and join the mailing list or follow Lost Creek Photography on social media to be among the first to know when it opens.
